Old Timey Long Distance Relationships

Dear Sex is Fun Listeners,

I was thinking about how we spent so much time talking about the internet in our recent Long Distance Relationships show without even mentioning letters.  I bet most of us can't remember the last time we hand wrote a letter to someone we love (some of us may never have at all!) but not too long ago letters were the main form of correspondence.  Lovers often sent each other letters daily.  It just goes to show that people have been figuring out how to stay close to their far-away loved ones for a long time.  Check out this great love note from Frida Kahlo to her husband, Diego Rivera, while he was away.  The site this is on, Letters of Note, is great reading too.  I hope you enjoy it.

  1. yes, only 70 years ago people don`t know what Internet is, and couldn`t imagine the possibility of distant communication. but, they dated on distance, they kept their relations in order through mailing, and nothing more!so it`s really funny to say we cannot date on distance - u know where she|he live, so come on!
